Clifford Chance had signed up to take a 42 storey, 100,000 m² tower at Canary Wharf. Being solicitors they needed the fit-out to comprise mainly of 2-man offices with an individually controllable air conditioning supply to each office.

Canary Wharf Contractors, who were responsible for fitting out this building, wanted to maintain their preference to use a fan VAV system and tasked TROX with developing a mini fan box to deliver this small air volume required in each office on a tight budget.

TROX developed the constant volume fan box (CVFB), which is smaller than the series fan terminal box (SFTB) range, and uses an integral electric heater inside the induction port and lined Multi Outlet box to replace the secondary silencer to reduce costs.
