As the atheletes of the world compete for Olympic Gold, TROX products are playing a part in their success. TROX components and systems are providing a pleasant climate in a range of Beijing venues.
For example, TROX supplied over 4,000 staircase swirl diffusers as well as jet nozzles and smoke dampers to the national swimming centre, the "Water Cube", designed by the Australia-based office PTW Architects. The exterior covering of the stadium consists of 3,000 air-filled cushions made of a special transparent film. This film is capable of lighting up in over 1,670 shades of colour. The stadium which can accommodate roughly 17,000 spectators in 6,000 fixed seats and 11,000 improvised seats, sees daylight for up to nine hours every day.
Further TROX products were also installed in the Laoshan Velodrome, a cycling arena, and in other sporting venues including the Olympic Badminton Stadium with over 9,000 staircase swirl diffusers ensuring a pleasant climate for the approx. 6,900 spectators.
